Big thank you to Janine for taking time out of her day to teach us Chinese calligraphy! Janine practiced chinese calligraphy a lot growing up, and learned to write chinese calligraphy at a young age. She really wanted to share it with the world, and we’re so happy to have her on! Thank you for teaching us chinese calligraphy Janine, and for sharing this part of traditional chinese culture with us!
Today, we explore traditional chinese culture and try writing chinese calligraphy for the first time. One of the amazing arts of China.THIS IS NOT AN ASMR VIDEO lol. It seems like all the Chinese Calligraphy videos are ASMR. Learning Chinese calligraphy or 書法 is a huge part of growing up in China, that we Chinese Canadians / Chinese Americans don’t really experience. We wanted to explore this aspect of Chinese culture and try it out for ourselves. Writing Chinese Calligraphy is an art form that takes a lot of practice and time to perfect. We try learning it today and find out that it’s pretty hard to learn to write chinese. But learning Chinese is fun! 🙂 We’re really happy we got to experience it! Thank you to Janine for the Chinese Calligraphy Tutorial! We know we’re super beginners and teaching this to people who are like write chinese beginner is hard, so thank you so much! The feeling of dipping it in the ink and using the brush to write on the paper is so relaxing. Maybe that’s why there are so many asmr chinese calligraphy videos hahah. Even Mike with brushpainting skills had a hard time!
We start off by learning how to write simple chinese. We start off with write chinese number 一 which means one. Then we write a chinese word of our choice 花, 萬, 香 and finally we learn how to write chinese word 書法 which stands for chinese calligraphy.
